Info on the Molly Ride......2015

Hello friends of Molly.  Happy New Year to all and we wanted to let you know that the "Ride on Molly" Committee is working hard to ensure this year is our greatest year yet.

Hopefully, by now you have booked your rooms at the Crowne Plaza in Ventura and are excited about joining your friends in our 5th Anniversary ride.

Included in this years ride will be an opportunity to visit a private collectors Motorcycle Museum in Simi Valley.  This private collection of motorcycles contains over 300 specialty motorcycles, many previously owned by some very famous celebrities/personnel.  All have their own unique story.  This collection will be made available in a private showing to our group with lunch on-site, thereby providing you an opportunity of a lifetime to view these bikes up close and personal.  There's also rumored to be some "Molly design" showings at the museum.

Future emails will provide some additional details of the ride, however the main purpose of this update is to discuss room accommodations.

The room block only has a couple of non-reserved rooms left, but we want to make sure all of you are able to book your room at the "Ride on Molly Ride" rate.  Therefore, we are actively working with the Hotel management to ensure additional rooms can be made available.  For these reasons, I would request that all future room reservations be made NOT through the website, but by contacting the Crowne Plaza directly.  If for any reason you have been/or are informed that rooms are not available, please email me directly and we will assist you.  Obviously, if you have already booked your room and received a confirmation number, nothing further is needed.

The contact number for reservations at the hotel is as follows:

Christine Smith  805-652-5119
Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach
450 E. Harbor
Ventura, Ca.

Please reference "Ride on Molly" to ensure you are included in our group.  Christine has been most helpful in assisting in the coordination of this event.

Rooms will be available for check in on April 24, 2015.  The actual ride date and activities will be Saturday, April 25, including an evening function.  At the time of your reservation you will have the option of checking in for either a 1 or 2 day stay.

Additional ride and activity details will be forthcoming via email, so stay tuned for more.

See you in Ventura

Big Twin is done!!!!

here are shots from a photo shoot by Street Chopper magazine a few days ago. Big Twin was in Street Chopper many times, on the cover of AEE's catalog, in Hot Rod magazine and many other places over the years. And now its back thanks to Paul Ponkow of Bones Legacy, Dave Brackett of AEE Choppers and all of you fans of AEE and Big Twin. Go to Street Choppers website and Facebook page for more on Big Twin.

Bones Legacy did AEE more than proud!

Paul Ponkow at Bones Legacy can not be thanked or congratulated enough for the work they did on the Big Twin restoration. I'm not sure many people would take on such a project and be able to pull it off. It's mind boggling how well its been done. I saw Big Twin every day for a couple years and they flat nailed it.
Go to Bones Legacy on line or on Facebook and check out their other builds.

Big Twin pipes are on!

Dave Brackett of AEE Choppers figured out these pipes the first time 45 years ago and did them again this time for Bones Legacy....looking perfect! Note the symmetry side to side...also left engine has exhaust coming out where usually intake goes in! More AEE Choppers wizardry.

AEE cast wheels available!

A great friend of AEE Choppers, Grant Peterson, came across these two original AEE cast wheels. Very rare, only about 50 ever made. These are available for sale....contact me and I can hook you up.
UPDATE: got pricing as follows "$700 on the used one with tire and $1000 on the basically NOS one marked AEE. Both for $1500. Plus freight from SoCal"

Big Twin lights up!

Wiring and lights are done....motors turned over.....getting close, very close!

Pictures from Sweden

A friend of the blog and AEE  Klaes Palmgren sent us these photos.....Tom McMullen on the Corvair Trike (could be from the film The Babysitter), Klaes filling up his chopper that is loaded with AEE parts and style and the last of our Supersport (red bike). Note on the rear of the Supersport is one of the 50 cast wheels AEE produced in the early 70's. Didn't really get production going before AEE shut down but interesting piece of history to see.
